Hey, great read as always. It's always a bit wild how easily these unverified claims about AI can go viral. Do you think the 'SYM Movement' guy genuiney believed that Canary article?
I'm putting it down to age and possibly taking the death of his wife very hard. - I am pretty certain he was used in his sudden and unexpected attacks against me, by one or two wel-known haters of me and of ROKC.
That said, I never did like the way, as a historian, he relied almost exclusively on secondary sources in his Spartacus profiles -- mainly his favored authors. Very little in the way of prinary documnetation. That is a huge red flag, along with his automatic acceptance of every rumor and money-spinning tale about JFK's alleged infidelities. I once chanllenged him to produce any evidence for any of the tall tales. The best he could do was a ltter in which JFK promised to catch up with Romesch next time he was in Germany. Big fucking deal! On that nothing burger, he was quite happy to slip the noose around JFK's neck.
On AI. My preference is in primary records, old news clipppings, genealoguy sites, memoirs not ditrectly related to JFK or the assassination, but help flesh out related matters and context. But I would use AI over JFK assassination books any day of the week.
When I was deep into my history studies years ago when I came to the history of, say, Poland, I read their history by a Polish author, one by a German author, and then one by an English author. It was the best way I could see to overcome the bias by any one author. I wish such had been possible with histories of ancient Assyria but, well, I don't read cuneiform.

AI is a useful tool. I am unsure if the same can be said about Simkin.

the way it should be.
great piece; the only suggestion I would make is that, for people outside of this general field of inquiry (JFK research), you clarify who Simkin is.
Good point
